There’s something about Beau Cheval in Wartrace that feels like time slows down a little — the rolling hills, the white fences, the way the sunlight lingers just long enough to make everything glow. That’s exactly how Katelyn and Luke’s engagement session felt: quiet, timeless, and full of joy that didn’t need to be performed. From the moment they walked the property together, laughter came easily. Every frame seemed to tell a story of two people who are most themselves when they’re side by side — grounded, genuine, and already home in each other’s company.
Kayelyn and Luke first met during their sophomore year at Coastal Carolina University. They started talking right before the COVID shutdown — when life went sideways for everyone — and both got sent back to their hometowns. Neither of them thought it would turn into anything serious… but five and a half years later, they’re still together and now planning their wedding!
Luke admires Kayelyn’s calm, patient heart — how she can stay steady through stressful moments and always think of others first.
Kayelyn admires Luke’s creativity and determination — his drive to give his best in everything, and how his goofiness brings out her own fun side.
Together, they’re a perfect blend of grounded and joyful.
The two of them have already walked through so many milestones together — from college graduation to starting their adult lives. After spending a few years in South Carolina, they both realized it wasn’t where they wanted to raise a family.
So, in true leap-of-faith fashion, they moved to Tennessee — no family here, no friends yet — and began building a new life together from the ground up. Their story is such a testament to courage, commitment, and trusting each other no matter what.
Their friends describe them as perfect for each other — often laughing that “no one else could put up with them,” but also knowing they’re truly best friends.
Before the session, they were a little nervous — which is totally normal! Luke joked that he was worried about looking awkward or not knowing how to pose. But once we got started and chatting along the way on the Beau Cheval property, all of that disappeared.
