There’s something timeless about a Tennessee fall wedding. The soft light, the overcast skies, the sense of peace that settles over everything. Jillian and Cody’s wedding at Iriswoods in Lebanon, TN was the perfect reflection of that feeling: joyful, emotional, and beautifully personal from beginning to end.
Upstairs in the Iriswoods bridal suite, Jillian and her ten bridesmaids were all smiles — surrounded by snacks, mimosas, and the soft hum of laughter as hair and makeup began. She was completely radiant, soaking in the moment and the joy around her.
Downstairs in the groom’s suite, Cody and his groomsmen relaxed while watching sports, doing their best to keep nerves under control before the big moment. You could sense the anticipation — he couldn’t wait to see his bride.
While the morning unfolded on this fall Tennessee morning, we photographed the details that told their story — including Jillian’s custom gown, designed especially for her by Johnathan Kayne, designer and judge on Project Runway. The dress was elegant, timeless, and truly one-of-a-kind.
As Jillian got dressed, her mom stood beside her, helping her into her gown and sharing a quiet champagne toast before the first look with her bridesmaids. Eyes glistened, laughter echoed, and joy filled the room.
Then came her first look with her dad, a moment full of emotion in the front yard of the venue. His reaction said it all. Jillian also gifted both her parents handwritten letters of gratitude — a beautiful, intentional way to honor them.
Cody’s first look at Jillian was one of those moments that stops time. His eyes lit up, and the words he spoke over her were pure love. Together, they walked to the ceremony site and shared private vows — just the two of them — while we photographed quietly from a distance.
Their ceremony featured a unique hand-fasting tradition. As the cord wrapped around their wrists and they gently pulled apart, it tied into a love knot, symbolizing the binding of their hearts and lives together.
After their first kiss as husband and wife, we captured a few “just married” portraits around the property. Because they had already done portraits earlier in the day, they were free to spend their cocktail hour with guests — exactly how they wanted it.
As the sun began to set, we snuck away for a few quick portraits with a vintage Stingray. It was playful, timeless, and so them — the perfect ending to a perfect day. As evening fell, the energy built — laughter, music, and pure joy filled the reception space. Before the light faded completely, we snuck out for a few portraits with a vintage Stingray, one of those unforgettable, cinematic moments that felt like something out of a movie.
From start to finish, Jillian and Cody’s day was full of heart. Not performative, not rushed — just a deeply genuine celebration of two people who adore one another.
From laughter upstairs to the quiet vows under the trees, Jillian and Cody’s Iriswoods wedding in Lebanon, TN was the kind of day. It reminds you what weddings are truly about — connection, family, and love that feels both steady and overflowing.
It was such an honor to document their story. Every quiet tear, laugh, moment reminded everyone there that love really is the best part of life.
