A Magical Wedding at Iriswoods Wedding and Event Venue in Mount Juliet, Tennessee

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that combines historic charm, affordability, and outdoor beauty, Iriswoods Wedding and Event Venue in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, is a hidden gem that should be on your radar. Recently, we had the pleasure of capturing a stunning wedding at this enchanting venue, and it’s safe to say it left us utterly spellbound.

Arrival and First Impressions

From the moment we arrived, Iriswoods impressed us with its picturesque setting. The tree-lined drive leading up to the historic log cabin, with sunlight filtering through the leaves, was absolutely breathtaking. It immediately set the stage for what promised to be a memorable day. We took a moment to explore the grounds, eagerly scouting out photo opportunities and introducing ourselves to the friendly owner and staff. Their warmth and attention to detail were evident, and we could instantly tell this would be a wedding to remember.

Capturing the Moments

The venue’s rustic charm provided a perfect backdrop for the day’s events. The bride and bridesmaids prepared upstairs in a beautifully lit space where natural light streamed through the windows, making it ideal for capturing those intimate moments of preparation. The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter. Before the bride and bridesmaids donned their finery, the bride requested they have a jam out session blasting the song“Love is an Open Door” from Frozen, while they sang and danced in wild abandon, adding a fun and playful element to the day. With her mom there helping her into her dress, the bride was a vision in her wedding gown, featuring added fabric taken from her mother’s wedding dress that was added to the bodice to add a very sentimental touch. Her bridesmaids, two whom were her sisters, looked radiant in pastel green and light blue gowns.

The groom and groomsmen, all basketball enthusiasts, decided to add a unique twist to their day, and made a GAME DAY spoof, donning superhero, movie legends and cartoon characters outfits. After having a little bit of playful and silly fun, the guys got somewhat serious and they got into their suits.

The groom himself looked dashing in his gray suit with a pastel blue bow tie, and his groomsmen complemented him perfectly in matching suits with full-length pastel blue ties. Their lighthearted and fun-loving nature made for some fantastic, candid shots.

Emotional Moments and Ceremonial Highlights

One of the most touching moments of the day was the first look with the bride's father. This was his first daughter to marry, and he managed to hold back tears of joy as he saw his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. Following this, the bride and groom shared a first touch and exchanged heartfelt vows, their deep love for each other and their faith evident in every word. Afterward, the families of the bride and groom took time to pray over the couple before they begins this new chapter in their young lives

The ceremony itself was beautifully intimate. The groom’s father officiated, adding a very personal touch, while the bride’s father performed "Hymn of Heaven", a musical piece on his guitar. The couple professed their love under a flower-adorned wooden cross and shared in the Lord’s Supper before being announced as Mr. & Mrs. Novell. Their kiss sealed the ceremony, and the guests, who had signed the engagement album, eagerly moved to the reception area.

A Reception to Remember

The reception area was a vision of elegance with pastel blue tablecloths, candles, and fresh flowers. The memory table was particularly touching, featuring photos of the bride and groom’s parents and grandparent's, along with their mothers’ wedding veils—a lovely nod to family heritage.

Guests enjoyed a delightful spread from Cookie Fix in Franklin, TN, including an assortment of cookies, fresh lemonade, sweet tea, and a delicious selection of cheeses, meats, vegetables, and breadsticks. As the newlyweds returned from their “just married” photo session, the bride’s father offered a heartfelt blessing before everyone indulged in a Mexican-inspired feast catered by Wildberry Catering.

One of the highlights of the evening was the dance floor. For their first dance as a married couple, Jacob and Kirsten danced a beautiful choreographed number that took everyone's breath away, including mine! I could actually feel the love between these two as they danced with every part of their being. The bride’s family demonstrated their impressive dance skills, showcasing a choreographed performance that had everyone on their feet, cheering, and dancing that eventually pulled everyone onto the dance floor to share in the fun. The energy was electric, and it was clear that this family knew how to throw a party.

A Sparkling Send-Off

As the night drew to a close, the newlyweds made their grand exit through a tunnel of sparklers, a dazzling end to a truly magical day. It was the perfect conclusion to a wedding filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
