Savannah & Karson’s Engagement Session at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, TN

Some couples make our job feel less like work and more like spending time with friends. Savannah and Karson were absolutely that kind of couple!

We met these two at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, Tennessee, for their engagement session, and from the moment we started, we knew we were going to have a wonderful time together. They were two of the sweetest people, completely natural in front of the camera, and so easy to photograph. Even with cloudy skies and a little rain making an appearance, we couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon with them.

As Nashville and Middle Tennessee engagements photographers, we love those sessions where couples can simply be themselves, laugh together, and enjoy being in the moment. Savannah and Karson made that easy, and we loved capturing the joy they share.

A Love Story That Started at College Ministry

Savannah and Karson’s story began during Savannah’s very first week of school at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where they met through the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM).

What started as a college connection grew into something much deeper. And Karson was the first to say those three little words, “I love you.”

It happened after a BCM Halloween party while he was dropping Savannah off at her dorm. A simple moment that became part of the story they will carry with them into marriage.

We love hearing how couples remember the little details that brought them together. Those moments may have seemed ordinary at the time, but looking back, they become treasured pieces of a much bigger story.

A Proposal With Family, a Lake, and a Wooden Cross

Karson’s proposal was thoughtful, personal, and full of meaning.

He planned what Savannah thought would be family photos, with her best friend behind the camera. But in the middle of the session, everyone began backing away, leaving Savannah and Karson together.

Waiting at the proposal spot was a wooden cross that Karson and his dad had moved there together.

Then came the question that changed everything.

Savannah was completely surprised and so happy. Karson, meanwhile, had one very practical thought running through his mind: don’t drop the ring in the lake!

As Christian wedding photographers in Tennessee, we couldn’t help but smile hearing that part of their story. Behind the surprise, the planning, and the beautiful setting was a moment they will remember for the rest of their lives. And the wooden cross made it even more special, reflecting something meaningful about the faith they hope to build their marriage around.

What They Admire Most About Each Other

One of our favorite parts of getting to know our couples is hearing what they love and appreciate most about one another.

Savannah admires Karson’s kindness and the way he cares for others. She describes him as someone who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. That’s a beautiful quality to see in a future husband.

Karson admires Savannah’s heart for the Lord and her willingness to serve Him.

As we listened to them talk about one another, it was clear that their relationship is built on more than attraction. They see and appreciate the character, compassion, and faith in each other.

And when we asked what they are most excited about as they look toward marriage, their answer was especially meaningful.

They are most excited to join together as husband and wife and serve the Lord together.

What a beautiful foundation for a marriage. Not simply choosing to share a life together, but choosing to walk in faith together, encourage one another, and serve something greater than themselves.

A Cloudy Day, a Little Rain, and So Much Joy

Our time together at Harlinsdale Farm was a reminder that an engagement session doesn’t need perfect weather to create beautiful memories.

The skies were cloudy, and we had a little rain, but Savannah and Karson never missed a beat. They were relaxed, affectionate, and completely themselves in front of our cameras.

Some of our favorite photographs happen when couples forget about the cameras and simply enjoy each other. Our bright, airy, true-to-color photography style allows us to capture those genuine moments while keeping the images timeless and natural.

We loved walking around the farm, capturing their connection, and getting to know them a little better before the big day. The weather was just a small part of the story, and honestly, it made the afternoon feel even more memorable.

These photos are absolutely phenomenal! I love everything about them! I am beyond proud of the man my uncle Karson has grown into, and I cannot wait to see the husband he becomes to Savannah. There is something so special about getting to watch someone you’re lucky enough to call family enter such a beautiful new chapter of life. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, laughter, love, and everything beautiful this world has to offer. So happy for you both! ❤️
