There are some wedding days that feel less like an event and more like being invited into a beautiful little world filled with love, laughter, and the people who matter most. Sarah and Dylan’s fall wedding at The Barn at Firefly Lane in Dickson, Tennessee, was exactly that kind of day. With the venue’s enchanting forest setting, the most beautiful autumn-inspired colors, and a relaxed brunch celebration surrounded by family and friends, their wedding was full of thoughtful details and sweet moments that made it uniquely theirs.
As Middle TN photographers, these are the kinds of weddings we love most. The ones where you can feel the joy in the room, where the details tell a story, and where the day unfolds naturally without ever feeling like it has to be perfect to be beautiful.
And Sarah and Dylan’s day? It was beautiful from the very beginning.

Our day began at 6:30 a.m., photographing the wedding details as the sun began to rise. There is something special about those early morning hours on a wedding day. Everything is still quiet, the anticipation is building, and the venue seems to be waiting for the celebration to begin.
The Barn at Firefly Lane provided the perfect backdrop, with its enchanted forest atmosphere and natural beauty. The fall setting made everything feel warm, romantic, and inviting.
Sarah and Dylan chose a gorgeous color palette of terra cotta and sage, and it couldn’t have been more fitting for the season. The rich, earthy terra cotta brought warmth to the day, while the soft sage added a natural, understated elegance. Together, the colors complemented the surrounding landscape beautifully.
From the moment we began photographing the details, I knew this was going to be a wonderful day to document.

Sarah looked absolutely beautiful in her ballgown wedding dress from Petals & Lace. With its small train and bustle, her gown had that timeless bridal elegance that never goes out of style.
Her bridesmaids wore terra cotta dresses from Azazie, creating a gorgeous contrast against the greenery and wooded setting. Dylan and his groomsmen wore dark taupe tuxedos from Friar Tux, bringing everything together with a sophisticated, earthy look that was perfect for a fall wedding.
I always love seeing how a couple brings their vision to life through the little details, and Sarah and Dylan did such a lovely job of choosing colors and styles that felt cohesive without being overly formal.
Everything felt intentional, but nothing felt stuffy. It was elegant, warm, and completely welcoming.

One of the sweetest details about Sarah and Dylan’s wedding was their choice of song: You’ll Be in My Heart.
Sarah loved Tarzan as a child and has always loved the song, making it a meaningful choice for their wedding day.
I love when couples choose something that connects to their own story. Weddings are filled with traditions, beautiful details, and moments that everyone expects, but the personal touches are what make a wedding feel like your wedding.
A song that has meant something to you for years becomes even more special when it is woven into one of the most meaningful days of your life. It is a little piece of your story that you get to carry with you into this next chapter.
And that is one of my favorite things about photographing weddings: getting to see all the little ways a couple’s personalities, memories, and love show up throughout their day.

Sarah and Dylan chose to celebrate with a laid-back brunch reception, and it was such a fun way to bring everyone together!
The cocktail hour featured mimosas, cocktails, and mocktails, giving guests the chance to mingle and enjoy the atmosphere before settling into the celebration. And instead of a traditional evening reception menu, guests were treated to a delicious brunch spread featuring pancakes, shrimp and grits, and a coffee bar.
Honestly, what is better than good food, great coffee, and celebrating two people you love?
The entire day had a relaxed, welcoming feel. There was room to visit, laugh, enjoy the food, and simply be present with the people who had gathered to celebrate Sarah and Dylan.
That is something I hope every couple remembers when planning their wedding. You do not have to follow every tradition or create a day that looks like everyone else’s. You get to decide what matters most to you and build a celebration around that.
For Sarah and Dylan, that meant a beautiful fall wedding with a brunch reception, their favorite people, and plenty of time to enjoy it all.

Now, let’s talk about the desserts!
Sarah and Dylan’s wedding featured a cinnamon roll wedding cake made by Sarah’s sister, and I thought that was such a sweet personal touch. There is something extra special about having a family member contribute something meaningful to your wedding day.
And because one sweet treat is never quite enough, there was also a scrumptious donut wall from Dickson Donuts!
Between the cinnamon rolls and the donuts, guests certainly had plenty of reasons to make a stop at the dessert table. It was the perfect addition to a relaxed brunch celebration and another reminder that weddings are often made memorable by the little things that reflect the people getting married.
The personal touches do not have to be extravagant. Sometimes, they are as simple as a family recipe, a favorite dessert, or something created with love by someone who has been part of your story long before the wedding day arrived.

One of my favorite things about Sarah and Dylan’s wedding was how laid-back the entire day felt. They created a celebration centered on sharing time with family and friends, enjoying good food, and celebrating the beginning of their marriage.
There were cocktails and mocktails, a fun photo booth, delicious brunch, cigars, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the day together.
Nothing about the celebration needed to be overly complicated. It was about gathering the people they love in a beautiful setting and making memories they will carry with them for years to come.
As someone who has the privilege of documenting wedding days, I believe the best photographs often come from these very moments. The genuine smiles, the unexpected laughter, the quiet exchanges, and the moments when everyone forgets about the camera and simply enjoys being together.
Those are the memories that become even more precious as the years go by.
A beautiful wedding day comes together through the hard work and care of so many talented people. Sarah and Dylan had a wonderful team helping bring their vision to life, and I am so grateful to work alongside vendors who contribute to such a memorable experience.
Here are the fabulous vendors who helped make their day special:
Thank you to this wonderful team for helping create such a lovely celebration for Sarah and Dylan!
Sarah and Dylan, thank you for allowing us to be part of such a special day in your lives. Your fall wedding was a beautiful reminder that a meaningful celebration does not have to be complicated. Sometimes, the most memorable days are the ones filled with the people you love, personal touches that tell your story, and the freedom to enjoy every moment.
From those first quiet hours as the sun rose over The Barn at Firefly Lane to the laughter, brunch, and sweet details throughout the day, it was a joy to document this chapter of your story.
As you begin married life together, I hope you always find reasons to laugh together, traditions that belong only to the two of you, and little moments that remind you why you chose each other.
May your life together be filled with the kind of love that grows deeper with every passing season.
With love,
Deva & Bill
