Lilly was absolutely breathtaking.

She wore a fitted mermaid-style gown that hugged her silhouette beautifully with a flowing elegant train. Her long veil drifted effortlessly behind her with every step, creating those timeless bridal portraits every bride dreams of. She carried a classic bouquet of white blooms with some pale yellow mixed in that complemented the clean, elegant style of the day.

A First Look with her Grandmothers

Another meaningful moment of the day took place in the bridal suite when Lilly shared a first look with her grandmothers. Their reactions were incredibly sweet and emotional as they saw her as a bride for the first time, smiling through tears as they took in every detail. Lilly also had a special surprise sewn into her wedding dress for one of her grandmothers—a piece representing her late grandfather’s favorite college team. It was a beautiful and deeply personal way to honor his memory and include him in such an important day. The moment was filled with love, happy tears, and the kind of family memories that make a wedding day truly unforgettable.

A Sweet First Look with Her Bridesmaids

I’ll never forget the look on their faces.

It was a beautiful thing to watch 12 bridesmaids as they turned around to see Lilly in her wedding dress for the first time, you could feel the love they had for her. The smiles, the laughter, the happy tears, every reaction told a story of years of friendship, memories shared, and a bond that went far beyond just standing beside her on her wedding day. I can only imagine the sleepovers, youth church trips, and college dances these girls shared.

The First Look on the Front Porch

Then came the first look with Max.

Standing on the iconic front porch of The Witt House, Max waited as Lilly walked toward him. The moment he turned around, all of the nerves disappeared. You could see it written all over his face, pure admiration and sweet quiet tears flowed. Those quiet moments between them became some of my favorite photographs from the day because nothing was forced. It was simply two people overwhelmed with gratitude that the day they had waited for had finally arrived. They both had sweet gifts that they exchanged, Lilly’s was a beautiful bracelet and Max got a great pair of shoes. They were both thrilled!

A Father’s Unforgettable Moment

As emotional as that moment was, nothing quite compared to Lilly’s first look with her dad on the back porch. There wasn’t a dry eye nearby. Watching a father see his daughter as a bride is one of those moments that never gets old, no matter how many weddings we photograph. He was immediately overwhelmed with emotion.

A Ceremony Rooted in Faith

The ceremony itself was deeply personal.

Lilly’s father not only had the honor of giving his daughter away but also prayed over the couple before they began their marriage. It was a beautiful reminder that the strongest foundations are built on faith.

Adding another meaningful touch, family friend Taylor Roberson sang as the grandparents and bridal party made their way down the aisle. One of the songs, You Are My Sunshine, created such a sweet and nostalgic atmosphere that perfectly fit the intimate feel of the ceremony.

The bridesmaids wore soft, pastel yellow dresses that complemented the classic white exterior of The Witt House beautifully. Max was strikingly handsome in his dusty French blue suit and buttercream tie, and the groomsmen looked sharp in their matching suits, creating a timeless color palette that felt fresh with Southern elegance.

One of the sweetest details from this wedding day was watching the moms take on the role of ring bearers. When the time came, they lovingly carried the rings forward and presented them to the officiant before sharing heartfelt hugs with the bride and groom, a beautiful reminder that these two weren’t just joining their lives together, but joining two families as well.

Lilly and Max wrote sweet personal vows and declared them to one another in front of their family and friends.

A Quiet Moment Before the Celebration

Following the ceremony, Lilly and Max slipped away for a private dinner together before joining their guests. We absolutely love when couples choose to do this. In the middle of a day that seems to move at lightning speed, it gives them a chance to slow down, breathe, and enjoy their very first meal as husband and wife without the whirlwind of the reception around them.

The Celebration Begins

When they made their grand entrance into the reception, the celebration officially began.

Their first dance was to “Biblical” by Calum Scott, and honestly, I couldn’t imagine a more fitting song. Watching them sway together surrounded by the people who love them most was one of those moments that makes you quietly lower your camera for just a second to soak it all in.

The Sweetest Surprise

And then came one of the most fun surprises of the evening.

An ice cream truck from 3 Scoops Ice Cream rolled in to serve guests. It was such a fun twist on traditional wedding desserts and had everyone, from kids to grandparents, lining up with smiles. It’s personal touches like these that make a wedding unforgettable.

One of my favorite portraits from the day was standing with Lilly and Max in front of The Witt House. The grand white columns, symmetrical architecture, and lush green lawn framed them so perfectly that the image felt like something straight out of a Southern wedding magazine.
