A Real Wedding Day

An Elegant Downtown Nashville Wedding at Noelle | Stephanie & Jay

There is something undeniably magical about a wedding in downtown Nashville. Add the historic architecture, sophisticated interiors, and unmistakable character of Noelle Nashville, and you have the setting for an unforgettable wedding day.

Stephanie and Jay’s wedding at Noelle was elegant, joyful, and full of personality. From the timeless white, green, and black color palette to rooftop portraits overlooking the Nashville skyline, every detail reflected the couple’s sophisticated style while still allowing their personalities and love for one another to shine through.

As a Nashville wedding photographer, we love photographing weddings in the heart of Music City, and Stephanie and Jay’s celebration was such a beautiful example of what makes a downtown Nashville wedding so special.

Getting Ready at Noelle Nashville

Our day began by meeting Annika from Mirwood Events, the month-of coordinator, to review the carefully planned 12-hour wedding-day timeline.

From there, we headed to the bridal suite, where Stephanie and her wedding party were getting ready. The room was full of excitement as the talented team from Indigo Beauty Collective worked on hair and makeup while everyone enjoyed brunch together.

There is something special about those quiet hours before a wedding ceremony. The bride and her closest friends and family are together, the anticipation is building, and there is still time to simply enjoy being together before the day moves into full celebration mode.

Meanwhile, Bill spent some time photographing Jay and the guys in the groom’s suite.

Elegant Wedding Details at Noelle

Before the wedding day gets busy, we always make time to photograph the details that tell a couple’s story.

Stephanie’s wedding vision was sophisticated and timeless, with a classic color palette of white, green, and black.

For her bridal details, I chose the Sadee Gallery at Noelle. With its crisp white walls, soaring ceilings, and beautiful natural light, it provided the perfect setting for elegant, editorial-inspired photographs.

Among Stephanie’s most meaningful details were pieces that belonged to her grandmother.

She incorporated her grandmother’s ring and a special lapel pin into her bouquet, allowing her to carry those family heirlooms with her as she walked down the aisle.

It was a quiet but incredibly meaningful way to honor someone she loved on one of the biggest days of her life.

A Joyful First Look in the Archives Room

Stephanie and Jay decided to have a first look, partly so they could enjoy the emotional moments of the day together without having to hold everything in until the ceremony.

Their first look took place in the Archives Room on the mezzanine at Noelle.

The moment Jay saw Stephanie, the nerves and anticipation gave way to pure happiness.

Their first look was filled with smiles, excitement, and the kind of genuine emotion that makes these moments so meaningful to photograph.

Afterward, we explored the hotel for portraits, taking advantage of Noelle’s distinctive architecture and beautiful interior spaces.

The grand staircase and historic elevator were just a few of the details we incorporated into their portraits.

A Downtown Nashville Wedding Ceremony

Stephanie and Jay chose an intimate ceremony surrounded by approximately 75 of their closest family members and friends.

The ceremony was short, beautiful, and deeply personal.

Afterward, guests transitioned into cocktail hour while we took the newlyweds out for portraits around downtown Nashville.

And this is where the city really became part of their wedding story.

Rooftop Wedding Portraits With the Nashville Skyline

One of the highlights of photographing a Noelle Nashville wedding is the opportunity to incorporate the city itself into the wedding photographs.

We took Stephanie and Jay to the rooftop for portraits with the Nashville skyline behind them.

The iconic Batman Building created the perfect Music City backdrop, and we also made sure to include Nissan Stadium in a few photographs as a nod to Jay’s love of sports.

These portraits felt completely different from the elegant interior photographs we had taken earlier in the day.

Inside Noelle, the photographs felt classic and editorial.

On the rooftop, they felt unmistakably Nashville.

That variety is one of the reasons we love photographing downtown weddings.

An Elegant Sadee Gallery Reception

While we were photographing portraits, the team at Noelle transformed the Sadee Gallery from the ceremony space into an elegant reception setting.

The transformation was beautiful.

As the last bit of natural light streamed through the gallery’s large windows, the white floral arrangements seemed to glow against the room’s bright walls and high ceilings.

The tables were dressed in crisp white linens and classic china, while tea-light candles added a soft, romantic glow.

The Farmers Florist created delicate white floral arrangements accented with lush greenery. Clear glass vases kept the overall design simple and elegant while allowing the beauty of the flowers and surrounding architecture to remain the focus.

The combination of white florals, greenery, candlelight, and the gallery’s timeless architecture perfectly reflected Stephanie’s vision.

It was sophisticated without feeling overly complicated.

Dinner, Speeches, and a Packed Dance Floor

Once everyone was seated, dinner and speeches began.

The speeches were heartfelt and emotional, bringing tears to more than a few eyes.

Then the celebration shifted into party mode.

Stephanie and Jay were the first ones on the dance floor, and they stayed there for much of the night. Their energy was contagious, and before long, their guests were dancing right alongside them.

This is one of our favorite things about wedding photography: watching a carefully planned day transform into a celebration that no one wants to end.

A Downtown Nashville Confetti Exit

When it was finally time for Stephanie and Jay to make their grand exit, the celebration continued with a shower of colorful confetti streamers.

It was the perfect ending to an already incredible reception.

But we weren’t quite finished.

Before saying goodnight, we made one final stop at Printers Alley.

Under the iconic neon lights, we captured a few last portraits of the newlyweds surrounded by the energy of downtown Nashville.

As people passed by, cheers and congratulations filled the alley.

It was spontaneous, energetic, and completely Nashville.

And honestly, there couldn’t have been a better way to end their wedding night.

Why Noelle Is a Beautiful Nashville Wedding Venue

Noelle Nashville is such a unique wedding venue for couples who want their celebration to feel elegant, modern, historic, and unmistakably connected to Music City.

The hotel’s distinctive architecture provides beautiful indoor portrait opportunities, while its downtown location makes it easy to incorporate some of Nashville’s most recognizable scenery into your wedding photographs.

For couples planning a downtown Nashville wedding, Noelle offers the opportunity to have the sophisticated feel of a luxury hotel while still being steps away from the energy and character of the city.

And from a photography perspective, there is so much variety.

You can photograph elegant bridal portraits inside the hotel, capture romantic moments on the grand staircase, create editorial portraits throughout the historic spaces, and then step outside for photographs featuring the Nashville skyline and Printers Alley.

A Wedding Full of Elegance and Personality

What we will remember most about Stephanie and Jay’s wedding isn’t simply how beautiful Noelle looked.

It was how genuine these two were.

Their wedding had all of the elements of an elegant downtown Nashville celebration, but it never felt like the details overshadowed the people.

There was sophistication, but there was also laughter.

There were beautiful florals and timeless details, but there were also inside jokes and a handkerchief that told the groom to keep himself together.

There was a gorgeous hotel and Nashville skyline, but at the center of it all were two people who were completely in love and surrounded by the people who mattered most.

That is what makes a wedding unforgettable.

Congratulations, Stephanie & Jay!
