Some sessions start with total confidence…
And others begin with a little bit of nervousness—and end in something even more beautiful because of it.
Christie and Brian’s engagement session was exactly that.
When we first started, they were a little unsure of what to expect.
That feeling of, “What do we do with our hands?” or “Are we doing this right?”
But it didn’t take long at all before something shifted.
They relaxed into each other. Started laughing. Let go of trying to “get it right”… and just were together.
And honestly? They were so naturally photogenic.
We spent the evening walking through a charming downtown setting, taking our time and stopping whenever the light or a moment caught our attention.
The light that night was absolutely perfect—soft, glowy, and the kind that makes everything feel just a little more romantic.
It wasn’t rushed. It wasn’t overly structured.
Just a simple evening spent together, capturing who they are in this season.
One of my favorite parts of their session was when we stepped into a nearby garden space.
It felt like a little pause from everything else—quiet, peaceful, and full of soft beauty.
The kind of place where you can slow down, breathe, and just be present with each other.
And those moments… they always end up being some of the most meaningful.
Their engagement story is one that feels so intentional, it’s hard to describe it as anything other than God’s hand at work.
Brian proposed during a candlelight concert at the Parthenon on November 21st.
Christie thought they were simply posing for a photo—but behind the scenes, Brian had quietly told the photographer what he was about to do.
What happened next completely surprised her.
Even though they both knew they were going to get married, the proposal itself was a moment she never saw coming.
Earlier that evening, before the concert, something happened that neither of them will ever forget.
While they were out to dinner, a woman approached their table and asked about their story. She took photos of them, and as she was leaving, she came back one more time.
She told them she felt led to say that Brian would be Christie’s husband.
She spoke a blessing over them.
And then she left.
It was one of those moments that you can’t explain away… and don’t really want to.
As Christie said, “I don’t believe in coincidence.”
Being around Christie and Brian, you can feel it.
There’s a peace. A steadiness. A sense that their relationship is built on something deeper than just the moment they’re in.
And watching them together—after the nerves faded, after they settled into each other—it was clear that what they have is real.
Sessions like this are always a reminder that it’s not about knowing exactly what to do.
It’s about showing up, trusting the process, and being willing to just be present with the person you love.
Because when you do that…
Everything else falls into place.
And what you’re left with are images that feel like you—honest, joyful, and full of meaning.
