Ashley and Harrisonâs engagement session at Gateway Island in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, was nothing short of dreamy. With soft morning light, blooming flowers, and a love story full of heart, this warm spring shoot captured everything beautiful about their relationship.
Ashley, a nursing student, and Harrison, a local firefighter, share a story that began with a thoughtful introductionâand a bit of encouragement from someone very special.
Harrisonâs boss, Adam, had also been Ashleyâs basketball coach for years. He just knew these two would hit it off. So a little over two years ago, Ashley visited Harrisonâs church, and thatâs when they finally met. It was a setup, yesâbut one that was clearly meant to be.
That same coach and matchmaker, Adam, is now preparing to officiate their wedding, bringing their story full circle in the most meaningful way.
Harrison was the first to say âI love you,â and since then, their relationship has grown into something steady and true.
Their engagement happened just outside Ashleyâs house on New Yearâs Eve, after a cozy dinner with her family. It was just the two of them under the starsâsimple, personal, and completely perfect.
We met at Gateway Island in the early morning while the air was still soft and golden. The park felt peaceful and secluded, with just a few early birds (and geese!) keeping us company.
Temperatures were already warm, hinting at the Southern summer ahead, but Ashley and Harrison were all smiles.
Gateway Island was full of life that morning. Flowers were in full bloom, adding bursts of color to every path and corner.
Shrubs swayed gently in the breeze, and a variety of ducks and geese waddled along the waterâs edge, adding a playful, almost magical feel to the session.
The natural setting created the perfect backdrop for Ashley and Harrison’s photos. Between the stone bridges, winding paths, and peaceful lake, we had no shortage of beautiful spots for portraits.
What made this session so special was how relaxed and genuine it felt. Harrison’s quiet strength paired so perfectly with Ashley’s sweet energy.
From quiet moments to laughter under the trees, their connection was undeniable. They were completely present with each other, and it showed in every image.
As Ashley prepares to finish nursing school and Harrison continues his service as a firefighter, theyâre building a life rooted in love, compassion, and courage.
Their engagement session was more than just a photo shootâit was a peaceful pause, a joyful milestone, and a celebration of all thatâs to come.
